Representation of Female in Dance assumes such crucial and aesthetic importance. Here,I have shared some of the poses of female goddesses which are in circulation in classical dance. Be it Meenakshi or Kamakshi or Visalakshi,the one thing that we can commonly identify is the stance as represented from sculptures in presiding deity temples. It is still debatable whether the Shilpa sastra existed long before Natya Shastra or whether the latter had influence over the former.
