About Samridhi Dance Foundation

Samridhi Dance Foundation was started as a humble initiative in 2016 by Smt. Rakshita Raghunathan, to focus on teaching and promoting the performance art of Bharatanatyam among people across borders and identities for sheer joy of celebration of the Indic Culture.

As a young child, Rakshita discovered her love for this art grow along with her and take new forms which she wanted to consciously share in her own ways, by imparting the essence of the Guru-Sishya Parampara learnings she was fortunate to receive from her Gurus with a new age approach.

Today through SDF, we aim to provide cultural education in the art of dance, helping and motivating students to learn with authenticity and deep understanding of the art form.

On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivaratri, Samridhi Dance Foundation offered a Natyanjali — a devotional dance offering in reverence to Lord Shiva, the Nataraja, the cosmic dancer. Students and the Guru came together in a collective act of seva through movement, rhythm, and bhava, honouring the ancient tradition of dance as sacred offering.
