As a kid I remember doing this exercise in dance routine, and it was such a fun thing to do and it still is. Like how a traditional Thanjavur doll has a round bottom and is constantly moving, we move our lower body in rotation. I have always felt sitting in Padmasana very comfortable and it helps me to have better control over my lower body. This exercise helps learners improve their upper body strength while moving and stabilizing in the position also simultaneously contributing to flexibility of the lower body.
